Cerebral fungal infections are usually reported secondary to contiguous spread from paranasal sinuses or orbit, hematogenous spread, traumatic brain injury, or immunocompromised conditions. Primary isolated intraventricular phaeohyphomycosis is rare. We report a 29-year-old man who presented with acute symptomatic unilateral hydrocephalus with an intraventricular lesion.

Purpose: We evaluated the efficacy and administration time of intraventricular (IVT) polymyxin B in the treatment of carbapenem-resistant and multidrug-resistant/extensively drug-resistant (MDR/XDR) Gram-negative bacilli in central nervous system (CNS) infections and investigated prognostic factors.
Patients And Methods: This retrospective analysis comprised 41 post-surgical carbapenem-resistant CNS infections from October 2016 to October 2021. All patients were treated with effective intravenous antibiotics and IVT polymyxin B.

α-Melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) is a body pigmentation-regulating hormone secreted from the intermediate lobe of the pituitary in vertebrates. It is also produced in the brain, and acts as an anorexigenic neuropeptide involved in feeding regulation. In rodents, intracerebroventricular (ICV) administration of α-MSH has been shown to affect not only feeding behavior, but also psychomotor activity.
