Unlabelled: With the advent of robot-assisted surgery, user-friendly technologies have been applied to the da Vinci surgical system (dVSS), and their efficacy has been validated in worldwide surgical fields. However, further improvements are required to the traditional manipulation methods, which cannot control an endoscope and surgical instruments simultaneously. This study proposes a speech recognition control interface (SRCI) for controlling the endoscope via speech commands while manipulating surgical instruments to replace the traditional method.

Disaster simulation exercises are important to test service processes, capabilities, and deficiencies; disaster response planning should encompass the entire multidisciplinary team over an extended period. Our service simulated a modest eight burn casualty scenario to test our service capabilities over a 10-week period across medical, nursing, and allied health professions. Requirements due to the mass burns casualty cohort were predicted in terms of theatre requirements, allied health treatment hours required, and nursing hours requirements.

Magnetoencephalography (MEG) provides crucial information in diagnosing focal epilepsy. However, dipole estimation, a commonly used analysis method for MEG, can be time-consuming since it necessitates neurophysiologists to manually identify epileptic spikes. Purpose: Long-term ambulatory EEG recordings can improve the monitoring of absence epilepsy in children, but signal quality and increased review workload are a concern. We evaluated the feasibility of around-the-ears EEG arrays (cEEGrids) to capture 3-Hz short-lasting and ictal spike-and-wave discharges and assessed the performance of automated detection software in cEEGrids data. We compared patterns of bilateral synchronisation between short-lasting and ictal spike-and-wave discharges.
