Despite the fact that five kinds of uranium nitrides, i.e., uranium mononitrides (UN, R3̅m and Fm3̅m), a uranium dinitride (UN, Fm3̅m), and uranium sesquinitrides (α-UN, Ia3̅; β-UN,P3̅m1), have been confirmed, until now the phase relations are not well understood because of the puzzling nonstoichiometric issue. This work reinvestigated the crystallographic structures of these phases using cluster formula theory. The principal clusters (cuboctahedron with six squares and eight triangles) in these phases were determined. N atoms can occupy either six octahedral sites (square face centers) or eight tetrahedral sites (formed by a center atom and a triangle) in the principal cluster of 13 U atoms, resulting in these diversified phases and the nonstoichiometric issue. Also, phase transformations at certain temperatures and pressures (from CaF-type UN to MnO-type UN, from MnO-type UN to NaCl-type UN, and from NaCl-type UN to HgIn-type UN) were deduced by tracking the bond and angle changes of a simplified cluster [U-UN]. This investigation provides an in-depth understanding of the phase relations in a U-N system.

Background: Celiac disease (CeD) has shown an association with autoimmune disorders including vitiligo and alopecia areata (AA). Ritlecitinib, a JAK3 and TEC kinase family inhibitor, has been approved for treatment of patients with AA and is in late-stage development for vitiligo. Ritlecitinib inhibits cytotoxic T cells, NK cells, and B cells which play a role in the pathogenesis of CeD.

We report full quantum-computed average microcanonical, initial state-specific, and canonical cumulative time-delays associated with the O + O scattering, presented as a function of total energy (in relation to an idealized molecular beam experiment) or temperature (for the properties of the gas phase in bulk conditions). We show that these quantities are well-defined and computable, with a temperature-dependent (canonical) time-delay presenting a smooth, monotonic decreasing behavior with temperature, despite an energy-dependent (microcanonical) time-delay of apparent chaotic character. We discuss differences in behavior when considering isotopic variations, O + OO and O + OO, with respect to the reference process O + OO and reveal a greater magnitude of the cumulative time-delay when genuinely reactive events can take place, in the presence of O.

Background: A recent prospective phase II study (ECOG-ACRIN E2211) demonstrated that MGMT deficiency was associated with a significant response to capecitabine and temozolomide (CAPTEM) in pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs); however, routine MGMT analysis in NENs was not recommended. Our study sought to demonstrate whether loss of MGMT protein expression is associated with improved overall survival (OS) in patients receiving CAPTEM for NENs from various tumor sites.
Materials And Methods: Paraffin-embedded tumor samples were evaluated by immunohistochemistry (IHC) using an MGMT monoclonal antibody.

Background: Advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (aPDAC) is often accompanied by significant muscle mass loss, contributing to poor prognosis. SarcAPACaP, an ancillary study of the GERCOR-APACaP phase III trial, evaluated the role of adapted physical activity (APA) in aPDAC Western patients receiving first-line chemotherapy. The study aimed to assess (1) the potential impact of computed tomography (CT)-quantified muscle mass before and during treatments on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and overall survival (OS) and (2) the role of APA in mitigating muscle mass loss.

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a leading cause of congenital infections and significant health complications in immunocompromised individuals. With no licensed CMV vaccine available, the development of the mRNA-1647 offers promising advancements in CMV prevention. We have reviewed results from Phase 1 and 2 clinical trials of the mRNA-1647 vaccine, demonstrating robust immune responses in both seronegative and seropositive participants.
