: Patients in cardiogenic shock (CS) may be successfully bridged using intravascular micro-axial left ventricular assist devices (M-LVADs) for recovery or determination of definitive therapy. : One hundred and seven CS patients implanted with M-LVADs from January 2020 to May 2024 were divided into four groups; group-1: 34 patients (transplant); group-2: 25 patients (LVAD); group-3: 42 patients (postcardiotomy CS (PCCS)); group-4: 6 patients (decision/recovery but excluded from analysis). Multivariable logistic regression and Multivariable Coxregression models identified predictors of early -hospital and late mortality, and Odds ratios (ORs) and hazard ratios (HRs) with < 0.

Background: Following an acute myocardial infarction (AMI), patients remain at risk for subsequent cardiovascular (CV) events. In the AEGIS-II trial, CSL112, a human apolipoprotein A-I derived from plasma that enhances cholesterol efflux, did not significantly reduce the first occurrence of CV death, myocardial infarction (MI), or stroke through 90 days compared with placebo. However, an analysis involving only the first event may not capture the totality of the clinical impact of an intervention because patients may experience multiple events.

Background: Left-sided mechanical prosthetic heart valve thrombosis (PVT) occurs because of suboptimal anticoagulation and is common in low-resource settings. Urgent surgery and fibrinolytic therapy (FT) are the two treatment options available for this condition. Urgent surgery is a high-risk procedure but results in successful restoration of valve function more often and is the treatment of choice in developed countries.

Background: Early guidance recommended a bolus of intravenous heparin at the beginning of leadless pacemaker (LP) implantation procedures. However, due to concern about bleeding complications, more recent practice has tended toward omitting the bolus and only running a continuous heparin infusion through the introducer sheath. The impact of omitting the heparin bolus on procedural outcomes is not clear.

Background: Prosthetic valve thrombosis (PVT) is a severe and life-threatening complication. Surgery and thrombolytic therapy (TT) carry a high risk, and in several circumstances, optimal anticoagulation with unfractionated heparin (UFH) infusion may be an alternative treatment. This study aimed to assess the results of UFH in patients diagnosed with both obstructive and non-obstructive PVT.
