We describe a new library generation method, Machine-based Identification of Molecules Inside Characterized Space (MIMICS), that generates sets of molecules inspired by a text-based input. MIMICS-generated libraries were found to preserve distributions of properties while simultaneously increasing structural diversity. Newly identified MIMICS-generated compounds were found to be bioactive as inhibitors of specific components of the unfolded protein response (UPR) and the VEGFR2 pathway in cell-based assays, thus confirming the applicability of this methodology toward drug design applications. Wider application of MIMICS could facilitate the efficient utilization of chemical space.

Background: Long-term fasting demonstrates greater therapeutic potential and broader application prospects in extreme environments than intermittent fasting.
Method: This pilot study of 10-day complete fasting (CF), with a small sample size of 13 volunteers, aimed to investigate the time-series impacts on gut microbiome, serum metabolome, and their interrelationships with biochemical indices.
Results: The results show CF significantly affected gut microbiota diversity, composition, and interspecies interactions, characterized by an expansion of the Proteobacteria phylum (about six-fold) and a decrease in Bacteroidetes (about 50%) and Firmicutes (about 34%) populations.

The synthesis of ethylamine-based perovskites has emerged to attempt to replace the lead in lead-based perovskites for the alkaline earth elements barium and strontium, introducing chloride halide to prepare the perovskites in solar cell technology. X-ray diffraction studies were conducted, and EXPO2014 software was utilized to resolve the structure. Chemical characterization was performed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, photophysical properties were analyzed through ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, and photoluminescence properties were determined to confirm the perovskite characteristics.
