Alphaviruses, a genus of vector-borne viruses in the family, encode a small ion-channel-forming protein, 6K, and its transframe variant (TF) during infections. Although 6K/TF have vital roles in glycoprotein transport, virus assembly, and budding, there is no mechanistic explanation for these functions. We investigated the distinct biochemical functionalities of 6K and TF from the mosquito-borne alphavirus, Chikungunya Virus.

Altering the edge sites of 2D MXenes for electrochemical dinitrogen reduction reaction (ENRR) is widely reported, whereas activation of its relatively inert basal planes is neglected. Herein, the activation and the optimization of the basal planes of TiCT (T = *F, *O, and *OH) MXenes toward enhanced ENRR to ammonia is reported. The balanced surface functionalization in TiCT regulates the ENRR kinetics by regulating the potential of zero charge (E) and the electrochemical work function ( ).

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly challenged healthcare systems worldwide, particularly in India, a country already burdened with a high prevalence of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). This perspective examines the pandemic's direct and indirect impacts on the prevalence, diagnosis, and management of NTDs in India. Using a narrative review approach, we analyzed literature published between January 2020 and September 2023 from databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, along with grey literature.

Primary Sjögren syndrome (SS) is an autoimmune disease affecting exocrine glands, with predisposition to development of lymphoma (lymphomagenesis). We report a case of Sjogren's syndrome and discuss the role of FDG PET/CT in the primary diagnosis of lymphoma transformation in SS. Furthermore, we reviewed the literature regarding the utility of FDG PET/CT to assess systemic disease activity and also its role in the SS associated lymphoma with light into the new PET tracers that can be explored for these indications in the future.

Challenges with effective removal of surfactants from monoclonal antibody formulations.

Buffer exchange is a critical step in biologics development, playing a pivotal role in removing contaminants, adjusting sample conditions, and facilitating compatibility studies. The efficiency of centrifugal concentrators for polysorbate removal was compared to a two-step approach involving a surfactant removal column followed by buffer exchange. Trastuzumab-pkrb from Herzuma® was used.
