Morphological changes in the immunocompetent organs of white mice with experimental plague infection manifested in activation of the immune response of different degree and pathological process of different severity that depended on the plasmid composition of Y. pestis. Widening of the T-dependent zones in the immune organs of white mice infected with isogenic strains of Y. pestis with different plasmid composition attests to activation of cellular immunity. Our findings allow considering Y. pestis subsp. altaica I-2948/3, Y. pestis subsp. pestis I-3479 and Y. pestis subsp. pestis I-3480 as promising candidates for vaccine strains.

A by-product is a secondary substance unintentionally produced during manufacturing and can be repurposed through recycling. In particular, by-products generated from the processing of natural materials are valuable because of their bioactive compound content, such as polyphenols and anthocyanins. Obesity is a global health issue, and medicines for obesity have side effects, such as insomnia and headaches.

Background: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is one of the fastest-growing diseases globally. Nearly 5 million people are affected by IBD, with an incremental growth rate of 47.45% between 1990 and 2019.

Background: Previous work suggests that the gut microbiome can be disrupted by antibiotics, anesthetics, opiates, supplemental oxygen, or nutritional deprivation-all of which are common and potentially modifiable perioperative interventions that nearly all patients are exposed to in the setting of surgery. Gut microbial dysbiosis has been postulated to be a risk factor for poor surgical outcomes, but how perioperative care-independent of the surgical intervention-impacts the gut microbiome, and the potential consequences of this impact have not been directly investigated.

Methods: We developed a perioperative exposure model (PEM) in C57Bl/6 mice to emulate the most common elements of perioperative medicine other than surgery, which included 12 hours of nutritional deprivation, 4 hours of volatile general anesthetic, 7 hours of supplemental oxygen, surgical antibiotics (cefazolin), and opioid pain medication (buprenorphine).

Purpose: MPNST is the leading cause of premature death among individuals with NF1 and the transcriptional aberrations that precede malignant transformation and contribute to MPNST tumorigenesis remain poorly defined. Alterations involving CDKN2A and components of PRC2 have been implicated as early drivers of PNST evolution, but these events do not occur in all MPNST. Accordingly, emerging data has begun to highlight the importance of molecular-based stratification to improve outcomes in patients with NF1-PNST.

Background: White adipose tissue (WAT) browning can promote thermogenesis and could be a promising target for treating obesity. Rare ginsenosides transformed from stems and leaves of (T-GSSL) exhibit numerous biological activities. However, its potential anti-obesity effects and underlying mechanism remain largely unknown.
