Self-assembly of nanoparticles (NPs) in solution has garnered tremendous attention among researchers because of their electrical, chemical, and optoelectronic properties at the macroscale with potential applications in bio-imaging, bio-medicine, and therapeutics. Control of size, shape, and composition at the nanoscale is important in tuning the material's bulk properties. The grafting of NPs with polymers enables us to tune such bulk material properties at the nano level by controlling their assemblies, especially in solutions.

Through detailed experimental and modeling activities, this paper investigates the origin of the temperature dependence of the Erase operation in 3D nand flash arrays. First of all, experimental data collected down to the cryogenic regime on both charge-trap and floating-gate arrays are provided to demonstrate that the reduction in temperature makes cells harder to Erase irrespective of the nature of their storage layer. This evidence is then attributed to the weakening, with the decrease in temperature, of the gate-induced drain leakage (GIDL) current exploited to set the electrostatic potential of the body of the nand strings during Erase.

Ferroelectric nematic (N) liquid crystals present a compelling platform for exploring topological defects in polar fields, while their structural properties can be significantly altered by ionic doping. In this study, we demonstrate that doping the ferroelectric nematic material RM734 with cationic polymers enables the formation of polymeric micelles that connect pairs of half-integer topological defects. Polarizing optical microscopy reveals that these string defects exhibit butterfly textures, featured with a 2D polarization field divided by Néel-type kink walls into domains exhibiting either uniform polarization or negative splay and bend deformations.

Proteins that lack three-dimensional structures are known as Intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs). In this study, we aimed to identify intrinsically disordered proteins in the Leishmania donovani proteome using various predictors that can identify IDPs based on amino acid residues and charge hydropathy. Top identified IDPs are analyzed using STRING, PSP-Hunter, Deep Loc-2.

The increasing need to understand and control the environmental impact of chemical processes has revealed the challenge in efficient evaluation of toxicity of the vast number of chemical compounds and their varying effects on biological systems. In this study, we introduce "Build-a-bio-Strip", a novel online service designed to carry out a quick initial analysis of the toxic impact of chemical processes. This platform enables users to automatically generate toxicity characteristics of chemical reactions using their own data on cytotoxicity or median lethal doses of the substances involved or computational predictions based on SMILES strings.
