A unilateral proximal interruption of the pulmonary artery is a rare entity that is commonly associated with other congenital cardiovascular anomalies. However, less frequently, this condition may occur as an isolated finding, and some patients are completely asymptomatic. We report 2 cases of asymptomatic patients who had an isolated unilateral proximal interruption of the pulmonary artery. Herein, the radiological imaging findings are described with an emphasis on interlobular septal thickening of the affected lung demonstrated with high-resolution computed tomography. Three-dimensional volume rendering imaging clearly demonstrated reticular opacities on the surface of the affected side of the pleura.

Background: The selection of the cannulation site for elective aortic surgery is mostly an individual choice based on the surgeon's experience and the surgical strategy. We evaluated the long-term outcomes of right common carotid artery (CCA) cannulation using a side graft to establish unilateral selective antegrade cerebral perfusion (uSACP).
Methods: We reviewed the records of 343 patients who underwent elective ascending aortic or aortic arch surgery between 2013 and 2020.

Background And Purpose: We report short- and intermediate-term effects on headaches with intra-arterial injection of lidocaine in the middle meningeal artery in patients with severe headaches associated with subarachnoid hemorrhage.
Methods: We treated seven patients with intra-arterial lidocaine in doses up to 50 mg in each middle meningeal artery via a microcatheter bilaterally (except in one patient). We recorded the maximum intensity of headache (graded by 11-point numeric rating scale) prior to procedure and every day for the next 10 days or discharge, whichever came first.

This procedure is carried out via a full sternotomy using standard aortic and bicaval cannulations. For the aortic and pulmonary anastomoses, selective antegrade unilateral cerebral perfusion is used after cooling the body temperature to 26 °Celsius. A 12-mm Hancock conduit is interposed between the pulmonary artery and the proximal descending aorta using standard running suture techniques.

Background: Proximal femoral varus osteotomy (PFVO) is commonly performed to improve femoral head containment and decrease deformity in Legg-Calve-Perthes disease (LCPD). Little is known about how PFVO impacts the quality of life after surgery. The purpose of this study was to determine the longitudinal changes to patient-reported physical, mental, and social health measures after PFVO.

A couple of S100 family proteins (S100s) have been reported to exert pro-inflammatory functions in the progression of renal fibrosis. Unlike some S100s which are expressed by both epithelial and stromal inflammatory cells, S100A7 is restricted expressed in epithelium. Persistent S100A7 expression occurs in some invasive carcinomas and is associated with poor prognostic factors.
