Bacterial infection of the laryngeal air sacs (air sacculitis) is infrequently reported in nonhuman primates, where it leads to chronic respiratory disease. It is particularly uncommon in macaques; however, we report here suppurative air sacculitis with extension to adjacent cervical tissues in three rhesus macaques and one Japanese macaque. Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus sp., and an anaerobic bacterium were isolated.

Helminths are not usually considered important pathogens for birds of prey. There is a single published report of mortality in raptors due to an air sac trematode infection. We report a well-documented death case from massive infection by an air sac trematode of the family Cyclocoelidae in a wild-caught, juvenile male Snail Kite () in Ecuador.

Infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) has a significant impact on the poultry industry, and genogroup VI (GVI) IBVs, such as the TC07-2 strain, were reported in China since 2007. We isolated a novel strain, CK/CH/FJ/202005 (henceforth 202005), from broilers that were vaccinated with different attenuated IBV strains (H120, 4/91, or QX) in Fujian, China during 2020. Based on comparison with the SNU8065 strain (GI-22), the 1ab genes were the locations of recombination in this new isolate.
