This paper describes a new option for integrated recovery and esterification of carboxylates produced by anaerobic digestion at a pH above the pK. The carboxylates (acetate, propionate, butyrate, valerate and lactate) are recovered using a strong anion exchange resin in the bicarbonate form, and the resin is regenerated using a CO-expanded alcohol technique, which allows for low chemicals consumption and direct esterification. Paper mill wastewater was used to study the effect of pH and the presence of other inorganic anions and cations on the adsorption and desorption with CO-expanded methanol. Calcium, which is present in paper mill wastewater, can cause precipitation problems, especially at high pH. Esters yields ranged from 1.08±0.04mol methyl acetate/mol of acetate to 0.57±0.02mol methyl valerate/mol of valerate.

The aim of this study was to investigate the growth characteristics of different local macrophyte species (n = 7) capable of growing in untreated coffee wastewater, select the dominant species for use in mesocosms, to study the efficacy of three major species in three replications (3 x 3) in improving the physicochemical characteristics of coffee wet mill wastewater, and to assess the contribution of macrophyte biomass to nutrient sequestration in the constructed wetlands. The current study showed that can sustain water logging and partially saturated conditions. The conducted wetland experiments pointed out the feasibility of VUFCW technology in ameliorating the impurities in wet coffee processing mills wastewater.

This study investigates the effects of ultrasound synergistic pH shift modification on the structural and functional properties of Hericium erinaceus (HE) proteins. The modification resulted in significant changes in the molecular structure of HE proteins, including increased solubility (49.69 % at pH 1.

There are many possibilities for noise exposure in industrial workplaces, including sectors that extensively use heavy machinery in processing each product. Various studies indicate a causal relationship between noise exposure and auditory/nonauditory effects among workers. Noise exposure poses risks to health and workers' hearing acuity and safety.

Soil degradation due to industrialization is a growing global concern, emphasizing the importance of evaluating soil quality near industrial zones to ensure food security, environmental sustainability, and public health. This study compares soil quality across five industrial sites, including foundries, electroplating, paper mills, textile mills, and quarries and cement industries, in the Coimbatore district. Soil samples were collected via a purposive sampling approach from nearby agricultural fields via a 500 m grid.

Difficult-to-cut titanium matrix composites (TMCs) are widely used in the aerospace, automotive, and defense sectors due to their excellent physical properties. Electrochemical mill grinding (ECMG) can achieve the processing effects of electrochemical milling and electrochemical grinding using the same tool, which has the potential to complete the rough and finish machining of TMCs in succession. However, in the rough machining stage, the bottom of the slot becomes concave due to the inevitable stray corrosion, leading to poor flatness, which increases the machining allowance for subsequent finish machining.
