Recommendations released by the CDC in 2023 address the need to demonstrate that the RNA genome of positive-strand RNA viruses is inactivated in addition to viral particles. This recommendation is in response to the similarities between host mRNA and the viral genome that allow the viral RNA to be used as a template by host replication mechanisms to produce infectious viruses; therefore, there is concern that through artificial introduction into host cells, active positive-strand RNA genomes can be utilized to produce infectious viruses out of a containment facility. Utilizing 10% formalin for 7 days or 2.

The proper development of balance is essential in the acquisition of a correct physical condition, as well as in the evolutionary follow-up at early ages, and its periodic evaluation is very relevant in the educational environment. : The objective of this research was to design an accessible web application for static and dynamic balance assessment, based on a force platform and motion analysis software. : The Single leg balance test (SLB), Tandem balance test (TBT), and Y balance test (YBT) were performed on a sample of 75 children aged 6 to 9 years.

The kidney plays an essential role in the proper homeostasis of glucose. In the kidney, glucose transport is carried out across cell membranes by two families of glucose transporters-facilitated diffusion glucose transporters (GLUTs) and Na(+)-dependent glucose co-transporters (SGLT family). Among the transporters, sodium-dependent glucose co-transporters play a major role in the kidney's ability to reabsorb glucose.

Introduction: Down syndrome (DS) is linked to unique hematopoietic characteristics that affect complete blood count (CBC) parameters. Accurate reference ranges are essential for proper CBC interpretation in this population.
Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 2,627 CBCs from 481 DS patients, aged 31 days to 18 years, at a tertiary care center in Italy.

Our previous studies on protein adsorption onto anion-exchangers of poly(ethylenimine) (PEI)-grafted Sepharose FF (PEI-Sepharose) proved their significantly improved performance over the commercial nongrafting anion-exchangers such as Q Sepharose FF, and it was found the protein adsorption behavior on PEI-Sepharose was more sensitive to counterions (Cl, SCN, HPO and SO). However, the complicated role of counterions has not been well interpreted due to their distinct chemical and physical characteristics. Thus, we have further studied the counterion effects by adding two halide ions (F and Br) to explore the effects of the three halide ions on bovine serum albumin adsorption and the results were compared with previous data.
