Purpose: We aimed to compare the influences of lymphatic invasion (LI) and vascular invasion (VI) on survival and recurrence according to the molecular subtypes of breast cancer.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data on 820 breast cancer patients and assessed overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) according to LI and VI using the Kaplan-Meier estimator and the Cox proportional hazards model.
Results: Both positive LI and positive VI showed inferior OS and DFS compared with negative LI and negative VI (all p < 0.001). Both positive LI and positive VI showed higher local, regional, and distant recurrence rates (p = 0.002 for regional recurrence of VI, p < 0.001 for all the others). Although LI was a significant independent predictor of OS (hazard ratio [HR] 1.927; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.046-3.553) and DFS (HR 1.815; 95% CI 1.063-3.096), VI was not in the multivariate analyses. Regarding OS, both positive LI and positive VI showed worse survival rates in the luminal A (p = 0.016 and p = 0.024, respectively) and triple negative subtypes (both p < 0.001). Regarding DFS, LI was a significant prognosticator in the luminal A and triple negative (both p < 0.001) subtypes. VI was a significant prognosticator across all molecular subtypes, although the prognostic impact was most prominent in the luminal A subtype (p < 0.001).
Conclusions: Both LI and VI were significant, unfavorable prognostic factors of OS and DFS, especially in the luminal A and triple negative breast cancer subtypes. Although LI was a significant independent predictor of OS and DFS, VI was not after the multivariate analyses.

Introduction: Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) is commonly used for diagnosing mediastinal lymphadenopathy. Despite a low complication rate, severe hemorrhage can occur which is reported in this literature, particularly in hypervascular conditions like Castleman disease.
Methods: A 54-year-old male with idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease underwent EBUS-TBNA for mediastinal lymph node sampling.

A potential two-way passage of cells and substances between the brain and skull bone marrow may open for new insights into neurological disease. The arachnoid membrane was traditionally considered to restrict cells and larger molecules in CSF from entering the dura and bone marrow directly. However, new data on exchange between brain and skull bone marrow have recently emerged.

: This study investigates the prevalence of calcification in mediastinal lymph nodes among sarcoidosis patients and the influencing factors. Sarcoidosis is a multisystemic inflammatory disease characterized by non-caseating epithelioid granulomas. Bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy (LAP) is the most common radiographic finding, with studies showing a correlation between the frequency of lymph node calcification and disease duration, with a frequency of 3% relating to a duration of 5 years and a frequency of 20% relating to one of 10 years.

In canine mammary neoplasms, greater inflammation is associated with higher histological grade, lymphatic invasion, and metastases. This retrospective study assessed the density of peri- and intratumoral tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs), tumor-associated neutrophils (TANs), and CD3 and CD79 lymphocytes in canine mammary neoplasms with a solid arrangement, and associated such data with histological types, immunophenotype, prognostic factors, cyclooxygenase-2 (Cox-2) expression and overall and cancer-specific survival. Sixty-one neoplasms with a solid arrangement were classified as malignant myoepitheliomas (6/9.

Background: Lymphatic leakage is a common complication after radical cystectomy and pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND) for muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC).This study aimed to investigate the risk factors contributing to postoperative lymphatic leakage in patients with MIBC.
Materials And Methods: A total of 534 patients undergoing radical cystectomy and PLND were enrolled in the retrospective study at Peking University Third Hospital from January 2010 to July 2023.
