A Box-Behnken design was used in conjunction with multiresponse optimization based on the desirability function to carry out the simultaneous separation of tryptophan and 15 derivatives by Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography. The gradient composition of the mobile phase and the flow rate were optimized with respect to the resolution of severely overlapping chromatographic peaks and the total run time. Two different stationary phases were evaluated (hybrid silica and a solid-core-based C column). The methods were validated and a suitable sensitivity was found for all compounds in the concentration range 1-100μgL (R>0.999). High levels of repeatability and intermediate precision (CV less than 0.25% and 1.7% on average for the retention time and the signal area, respectively) were obtained. The new method was applied to the determination tryptophan and its derivatives in black pigmented glutinous and non-glutinous rice grain samples.

The aim was to develop a two-stage seeding strategy and its optimization to enhance the conversion of xylose to xylitol by Debaryomyces nepalensis NCYC 3413. To develop efficient seed, multi-response optimization was employed to obtain optimal inoculum age and volume where xylitol concentration, yield and productivity were maximized. The optimal conditions of inoculation age and volume were 5.

Enzymatic treatment on lignocellulosic biomass has become a trend in preparing nanocellulose (NC), but the process must be optimized to guarantee high production yield and crystallinity. This study offers insights into an innovative protocol using cultivated fungal cellulase and xylanase to improve NC production from raw oil palm leaves (OPL) using five-factor-four-level Taguchi orthogonal design for optimizing parameters, namely substrate and enzyme loading, surfactant concentration, incubation temperature and time. Statistical results revealed the best condition for producing NC (66.

This study explores how machining parameters affect Surface Roughness (SR), Tool Wear Rate (TWR), and Material Removal Rate (MRR) during Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) of a hybrid aluminum metal matrix composite (AMMC). The composite includes 6 % Silicon carbide (SiC) and 6 % Boron carbide (BC) in an Aluminum 7075 (Al7075) matrix. A combined optimization approach was used to balance these factors, evaluating Pulse ON time, Current, Voltage, and Pulse OFF time.
