AI Article Synopsis

  • Fullerenes were successfully dissolved in water by combining them with β-1,3-glucan using a specialized high-speed milling technique.
  • The effectiveness of the resulting complex on photodynamic activity relies heavily on the levels of dectin-1 present on macrophage cell surfaces.
  • A synergistic effect was observed, enhancing photodynamic activity when β-1,3-glucan-complexed compounds were used together with 1'-acetoxychavicol acetate.

Article Abstract

[70]Fullerene was dissolved in water by complexation with β-1,3-glucan using a mechanochemical high-speed vibration milling apparatus. The photodynamic activity of β-1,3-glucan-complexed C was highly dependent on the expression level of dectin-1 on the cell surfaces of macrophages. The photodynamic activity increased as a result of a synergistic effect between β-1,3-glucan-complexed 1'-acetoxychavicol acetate and the C complex.
