The significant role of house dust mites responsible for health hazards such as respiratory allergy, nasobronchial, and nasal allergy in sensitive individual is well documented. Critical investigations, however, of house dust mite allergy in the tropics are few. The present investigations have helped in locating the source, assessment, quantitative and qualitative estimation, seasonal variations, and effect of meteorologic variables on house dust mite allergy and its relevance to clinical data of patients.

Introduction: Diesel exhaust particles (DEP) have been proven to aggravate asthma pathogenesis. We previously demonstrated that concurrent exposure to house dust mite (HDM) and DEP in mice increases both eosinophils and neutrophils in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and also results in higher levels of neutrophil-recruiting chemokines and neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation compared to sole HDM, sole DEP or saline exposure. We aimed to evaluate whether treatment with anti-IL-5 can alleviate the asthmatic features in this mixed granulocytic asthma model.

Background: Mental health issues, particularly anxiety and depression, are increasingly prevalent among the occupational population. Environmental factors, such as dust exposure, may contribute to the worsening of these symptoms. While previous studies have examined the association between dust exposure and mental health, the moderating effect of sleep duration on this link in occupational settings remains under-explored.

Decabromodiphenyl ethane (DBDPE), a key alternative to deca-BDE (BDE-209), has been ubiquitous in the receiving ecosystem. However, little is known about its uptake process and fate in plants. Here, the plant absorption, distribution, and metabolism of C-DBDPE under two distinct exposure pathways (i.

Background: Coal workers' pneumoconiosis is a chronic occupational lung disease with considerable pulmonary complications, including irreversible lung diseases that are too complex to accurately identify via chest X-rays. The classification of clinical imaging features from high-resolution computed tomography might become a powerful clinical tool for diagnosing pneumoconiosis in the future.
Methods: All chest high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) medical images presented in this work were obtained from 217 coal workers' pneumoconiosis (CWP) patients and dust-exposed workers.
