In this paper a method for studying stability of the equation [Formula: see text] not including explicitly the first derivative is proposed. We demonstrate that although the corresponding ordinary differential equation [Formula: see text] is not exponentially stable, the delay equation can be exponentially stable.

A four-level model of political polarization over science: Evidence from 10 European countries.

Public Underst Sci

Radboud University, The Netherlands; University of Gothenburg, Sweden; Leibniz University Hannover, Germany.

Citizens' trust in science increasingly depends on their political leaning. Structural equation models on survey data from 10 European countries ( = 5306) demonstrate that this can be captured by a model with four levels of generalization. Voters of populist parties distrust the in general, which indirectly fuels a broad science skepticism.

Data-Driven Equation-Free Dynamics Applied to Many-Protein Complexes: The Microtubule Tip Relaxation.

Biophys J

January 2025

Department of Chemistry, Chicago Center for Theoretical Chemistry, The James Franck Institute, and Institute for Biophysical Dynamics, The University of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois 60637, United States. Electronic address:

Microtubules (MTs) constitute the largest components of the eukaryotic cytoskeleton and play crucial roles in various cellular processes, including mitosis and intracellular transport. The property allowing MTs to cater to such diverse roles is attributed to dynamic instability, which is coupled to the hydrolysis of GTP (guanosine-5'-triphosphate) to GDP (guanosine-5'-diphosphate) within the β-tubulin monomers. Understanding the equilibrium dynamics and the structural features of both GDP- and GTP-complexed MT tips, especially at an all-atom level, remains challenging for both experimental and computational methods because of their dynamic nature and the prohibitive computational demands of simulating large, many-protein systems.

The outbreak of COVID-19 led to the emergence of various forms of mutual aid. While prior research has demonstrated that mutual aid can contribute to participants' subjective well-being, the majority of these studies are qualitative and lack clear understanding of the underlying mechanisms. Using a questionnaire survey and structural equation modeling, this study finds that mutual aid significantly enhances the subjective well-being of participants in China.

Purpose: The present study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of external and personal regulatory mechanisms in reducing procrastination behavior among university students. For this purpose, the role of teachers' academic motivation is worthwhile in shaping the learning environment and reducing procrastination, with a focus on the mediating roles of emotion regulation and study habits considered imperative.

Research Design/method: By employing a quantitative, cross-sectional research design, data were collected from a sample of 210 teachers working in universities located in Multan-Pakistan via convenient sampling, yielding a usable response rate of 70.
