MicroRNAs are the largest group of short regulatory RNAs. They regulate genes participating in many physiological and pathological processes. The role of micro RNAs in cancer development is also considerable. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between DROSHA (rs6877842) and DGCR8 (rs417309, rs1640299) gene polymorphisms with risk of occurrence of laryngeal cancer. The study included 100 patients and 100 healthy subjects. Genomic DNA was extracted from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues. Analysis of the gene polymorphisms was performed using TaqMan SNP Genotyping Assay. The rs417309 AA genotype was found to be correlated with increased risk of larynx cancer. The rs1640299 TG and rs6877842 CG heterozygotes were significantly inversely associated with the presence of larynx cancer. Additionally, rs417309 AA genotype increased the risk of larynx cancer in the T1 stage, and the rs1640299 TG heterozygote occurred more frequently in the control group than those in the T3 and T4 stage. The rs417309 and rs1640299 polymorphisms of the DGCR8 gene as well as rs6877842 of the gene might be associated with a risk of laryngeal cancer occurrence in the Polish population.

Purpose: Cumulative cisplatin doses of ≥ 200 mg/m improve survival in adults with head-and-neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) undergoing chemoradiation, but many older adults with HNSCC cannot receive this prognostically relevant dose due to toxicities. This study aims to develop predictive models to assess the likelihood of older adults with HNSCC receiving ≥ 200 mg/m cisplatin during chemoradiation.
Methods: 366 patients from the SENIOR database, an international cohort of adults ≥ 65 years with HNSCC, received definitive chemoradiation with single-agent cisplatin and were analyzed.

Introduction: Laryngeal cancer diagnosis relies on specialist examinations, but non-invasive methods using voice data are emerging with artificial intelligence (AI) advancements. Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCCs) are widely used for voice analysis, but Octave Frequency Spectrum Energy (OFSE) may offer better accuracy in detecting subtle voice changes.
Problem Statement: Accurate early diagnosis of laryngeal cancer through voice data is challenging with current methods like MFCC.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of pedicled supraclavicular flaps in hypopharyngectomy reconstruction, with a focus on preserving laryngeal function.
Methods: From August 2019 to June 2022, 14 patients with primary hypopharyngeal carcinoma who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and underwent the repair of hypopharyngeal defects using pedicled supraclavicular flaps were included retrospectively. Relevant clinical evaluation indicators include patient characteristics, defect sizes, flap sizes, flap harvesting time, postoperative hospital stay, postoperative complications, recurrence, and survival outcomes.

Objective: The objective of this study is to provide a retrospective review of the 40-year experience of three oncology referral centers in the field of reconstructive laryngeal surgery.
Materials And Methods: A multi-institutional retrospective analysis included adult patients who underwent reconstructive laryngeal surgery for cT2-T4a laryngeal cancer (LC) between 1 June 1987 and 1 July 2019. Patients were stratified according to the European Laryngological Society classification for open partial horizontal laryngectomy (OPHL).
