Fatty acid metabolism, exercise, and insulin action play critical roles in maintaining vascular health, especially relevant in metabolic disorders such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Insulin, a vasoactive hormone, induces arterial vasodilation throughout the arterial tree, increasing arterial compliance and enhancing tissue perfusion. These effects, however, are impaired in individuals with obesity and type 2 diabetes, and evidence suggests that vascular insulin resistance contributes to the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes and its cardiovascular complications.

The complex relationship between kidney disease and hypertension represents a critical area of research, yet less attention has been devoted to exploring how this connection develops early in life. Various environmental factors during pregnancy and lactation can significantly impact kidney development, potentially leading to kidney programming that results in alterations in both structure and function. This early programming can contribute to adverse long-term kidney outcomes, such as hypertension.

Hypertension is one of the most serious chronic diseases. This study will focus on the systemic antihypertensive mechanisms of 5,7-dihydroxyflavone from in silico simulations to in vivo validations. In-silico studies were applied by network pharmacology, molecular docking, and molecular dynamic simulation.

The electrochemical nitric oxide reduction reaction (eNORR) is an efficient method for converting aqueous NO into NH. The pursuit of innovative electrocatalysts with enhanced activity, selectivity, durability, and cost-effectiveness for NORR remains a research focus. In this study, using particle swarm optimization (PSO) searches, density functional theory (DFT), and the constant-potential method (CPM), we predict two stable two-dimensional FeC monolayers, designated as α-FeC and β-FeC, as promising electrocatalysts for the NORR.

Cold stress is an environmental factor that seriously restricts the growth, production and survival of plants, and has received extensive attention in recent years. Hydrogen sulfide (HS) is an ubiquitous gas signaling molecule, and its role in alleviating plant cold stress has become a research focus in recent years. This paper reviews for the first time the significant effect of HS on improving plant cold resistance, which makes up for the gaps in the existing literature.
