The pathogenesis of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension may be multifactorial and requires further studies. We explored alterations in pulmonary artery endothelial cells under the hypoxic and elevated interleukin-17 conditions that are commonly present in patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. We measured the serum interleukin-17 levels in 10 chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension patients and 10 healthy control persons.

Localized provoked vulvodynia (LPV), also called vulvar vestibulitis or provoked vestibulodynia, is a major cause of dyspareunia that severely impacts sexual health. A recent experimental animal study suggests that the histopathological findings of LPV may be due to mucosal CD4 Th17 immune responses to microbial antigens.

Background: The pleural cavity represents a unique immunological compartment that can mount inflammatory reactions during infections, after surgery and in chronic immunological diseases. The connection between systemic immune reactions in the blood and local immune reactions in pleural effusions remains unclear. This study provides the first comprehensive immunological characterization of paired blood and pleural effusion samples, utilizing combined cell and cytokine analyses in pediatric patients undergoing cardiac surgery.

Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is an extremely rare disorder in children. Additional small pustules developed on her hand and posterior neck three months after the immunization and rapidly progressed.
