To perform a joint analysis of multivariate neuroimaging phenotypes and candidate genetic markers obtained from longitudinal studies, we develop a Bayesian longitudinal low-rank regression (L2R2) model. The L2R2 model integrates three key methodologies: a low-rank matrix for approximating the high-dimensional regression coefficient matrices corresponding to the genetic main effects and their interactions with time, penalized splines for characterizing the overall time effect, and a sparse factor analysis model coupled with random effects for capturing within-subject spatio-temporal correlations of longitudinal phenotypes. Posterior computation proceeds via an efficient Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithm. Simulations show that the L2R2 model outperforms several other competing methods. We apply the L2R2 model to investigate the effect of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) on the top 10 and top 40 previously reported Alzheimer disease-associated genes. We also identify associations between the interactions of these SNPs with patient age and the tissue volumes of 93 regions of interest from patients' brain images obtained from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative.

Objective: This longitudinal clinical study monitored annually the maxillary and mandibular bone remodeling and masticatory function in complete denture (CD) wearers rehabilitated with implant-retained mandibular overdentures (MO) over three years and combined radiographic and masticatory function data to assess the correlation between bone remodeling and masticatory function.
Design: Thirty-nine MO wearers were monitored annually to assess changes in: i) residual ridge in the anterior and posterior maxillary region; ii) posterior height and posterior area index (PAI) in the mandible; and iii) masticatory function. Bone remodeling was measured through linear and angular measurements using panoramic radiographs.

In this paper we study the spectrum of self-adjoint Schrödinger operators in with a new type of transmission conditions along a smooth closed curve . Although these transmission conditions are formally similar to -conditions on (instead of the normal derivative here the Wirtinger derivative is used) the spectral properties are significantly different: it turns out that for attractive interaction strengths the discrete spectrum is always unbounded from below. Besides this unexpected spectral effect we also identify the essential spectrum, and we prove a Krein-type resolvent formula and a Birman-Schwinger principle.

Lanthanide (Ln) oxides and cadmium (Cd) salts as sources of metals provided the first series of luminescent Ln-Cd-organic frameworks, [LnCd(imdc)(SO4)(H2O)3].0.5H2O (Ln = Tb, Eu, Dy, Gd, Er, Yb, Y, Nd, Pr; H3imdc = 4,5-imidazoledicarboxylic acid), in which the Ln atoms are linked by imdc ligands with skew coordination orientation, resulting in novel hetero-metallic-organic frameworks with left-/right-handed helical tubes (L1/R1) and channels (L2/R2) along the b axis.
