As part of a one-day management training exercise designed to modify attitudes toward race in the working environment, 2292 male and female, white and black managers completed a role playing exercise built around five statistically derived racial awareness factors. On three of the five factors those who role played supporting views on a designated factor ranked first in amount of change on that factor, as measured by pre- and postquestionnaires.

The inferior colliculus is a key nucleus in the central auditory pathway, integrating acoustic stimuli from both cochleae and playing a crucial role in sound localization. It undergoes functional and structural development in childhood and experiences age-related degeneration later in life, contributing to the progression of age-related hearing loss. This study aims at finding out, whether the volume of the human inferior colliculus can be determined by analysis of routinely performed MRIs and whether there is any age-related variation.

CAS Key Laboratory of Molecular Virology and Immunology, Shanghai Institute of Immunity and Infection, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai, China.

RIG-I like receptors (RLRs) are a family of cytosolic RNA sensors that sense RNA virus infection to activate innate immune response. It is generally believed that different RNA viruses are recognized by either RIG-I or MDA5, two important RLR members, depending on the nature of pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) that are generated by RNA virus replication. Dengue virus (DENV) is an important RNA virus causing serious human diseases.

Use of Hemoadsorption and Continuous Venovenous Hemodialysis With Enhanced Middle Molecule Clearance in Drug-Induced Rhabdomyolysis.

Case Rep Crit Care

January 2025

Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, Kreiskliniken Günzburg-Krumbach, Krumbach, Germany.

Drug-induced rhabdomyolysis has become increasingly prevalent due to the rising use of medications such as statins, antidepressants, and antipsychotics. These can lead to muscle cell destruction and the release of myoglobin, potentially causing kidney damage. Recent advancements include the use of CytoSorb hemoadsorption as a promising therapy to remove myoglobin and other potentially toxic substances from the bloodstream.
