: To assess pregnancy and delivery complications in obese women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and neonatal weight and condition after birth. : A retrospective tertiary referral centre study included all cases of GDM in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LUHS) Birth Registry from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2019. We included 583 women with GDM and singleton pregnancies.

Methods: The population-based Ural Eye and Medical Study (UEMS) and Ural Very Old Study (UVOS) included 5899 individuals (age: 40+ years) and 1526 individuals (age: 85+ years), respectively. Cause-specific mortality was determined using the government regional information and analytical system.

The global increase in the prevalence of type 2 diabetes has led to the development and implementation of new classes of anti-diabetic medications, introducing advanced therapeutic options for the management of the disease. These new medications, though primarily designed to regulate blood glucose levels, also have applications in weight management, potentially transforming the current approaches to diabetes treatment. Newer medications, however, have ophthalmic side effects with controversies in trials and real-life data.

The Respiratory Exchange Ratio (RER), which is the ratio of total carbon dioxide produced over total oxygen consumed, serves as a qualitative measure to determine the substrate usage of a particular organism on the whole-body level. Quantification of RER by its direct conversion into %Glucose (%G) and %Lipid oxidation (%L) at a given timepoint can be done by utilizing nonprotein respiratory quotient tables. These tables, however, are limited to specific increments, and intermediate RER values are not covered by these tables.

Untreated hyperprolactinemia and autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's disease) seem to increase cardiometabolic risk. The cardiometabolic effects of cabergoline were less significant in young women with concurrent euthyroid Hashimoto's illness. This study sought to investigate if the detrimental effects of this condition on cabergoline efficacy are also evident in postmenopausal women.
