Venous incompetence in the lower extremity is a common clinical problem. Basic understanding of venous anatomy, pathophysiologic mechanisms of venous reflux is essential for choosing the appropriate treatment strategy. The complex interplay of venous pressure, abdominal pressure, venous valvular function and gravitational force determine the venous incompetence. This review is intended to provide a succinct review of the pathophysiology of venous incompetence and the current role of imaging in its management.

Background Cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) refers to the bidirectional interactions between the acutely or chronically dysfunctioning heart and kidney that lead to poor outcomes. Due to the evolving literature on renal impairment and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HfpEF), this review aimed to highlight the pathophysiological pathways, diagnosis using imaging and biomarkers and management of CRS in patients with HFpEF. Further studies are needed to validate the use of novel biomarkers, especially for early diagnosis and prognostication.

Objective: The study aims to elucidate clinical and ultrasonographic characteristics of female patients diagnosed with pelvic varicose veins (PVV) and to assess potential risk factors associated with incidences of chronic pelvic pain (CPP) in this population.
Methods: Clinical and ultrasound data were retrospectively collected from female patients with PVV at Beijing Shijitan Hospital between December 2017 and October 2022. Patient cohorts were divided into two groups based on whether they had been experiencing non-periodic pelvic pain over six months, consistent with the symptoms of CPP.

Background: Treatment of symptomatic varicose veins has changed dramatically in the last few years with guidelines now recommending endovenous surgery as first-line intervention. Previously, this was achieved by laser or radiofrequency ablation of the target vein, requiring infiltration of tumescent anesthesia to reduce the risks of thermal damage to surrounding tissue. Endovenous cyanoacrylate injection (VenaSeal™) is a nonthermal, nontumescent endovenous closure technique, increasing patient comfort and is readily performed under local anesthesia only and thus is a feasible technique for in-room treatment.

Background: to compare different anesthesia protocols during High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) for saphenous trunk (GSV/SSV) and/or varicosities incompetence treatment.
Material And Methods: patients with GSV/SSV incompetence with varicose veins underwent HIFU under different anesthesia protocols. The primary endpoint was the pain score during HIFU using a 10-point scale.
