We used conventional cytogenetic techniques (Giemsa, C-banding, Ag-NOR), and fluorescent hybridization (FISH) with 5S and 18S rDNA probes to investigate the karyotype and cytogenetic characteristics of (Günther, 1860) from Ecuador. The specimens studied have a karyotype with 2n=54 biarmed chromosomes (32 M + 22 SM) and C-positive heterochromatin located on the centromeric, pericentromeric, interstitial, and terminal regions of some chromosomes. The nucleolus organizer regions occurred terminally on the long arm of chromosome pair 2. FISH confirmed the presence of only one 18S rDNA cluster with nonsyntenic localization with the 5S rDNA. Cytogenetic data allow us to refute the earlier morphological hypothesis of a sister relationship between Fowler, 1941 and Posada Arango, 1909 and support the molecular proposal that is a sister group to the monophyletic clade containing Agassiz, 1829 and .

Aims: Growth differentiation factor-15 (GDF-15) is an inflammatory cytokine that increases in prediabetes and is known for its anorexigenic effects. This study aims to evaluate the effects of a 12-week exercise program on GDF-15 in individuals with prediabetes.

Materials And Methods: In this multicenter, parallel-group, randomized-controlled trial, 64 patients aged 18-60 diagnosed with prediabetes were randomized in a 1:1 ratio into the exercise group (E) and the control group (C).

Background: The spinal column is a frequent site for metastases, affecting over 30% of solid tumor patients. Identifying the primary tumor is essential for guiding clinical decisions but often requires resource-intensive diagnostics.

Purpose: To develop and validate artificial intelligence (AI) models using noncontrast MRI to identify primary sites of spinal metastases, aiming to enhance diagnostic efficiency.

Objectives: To determine the effect of actively training the crura of diaphragm which is a part of lower esophageal sphincter using abdominal breathing exercises to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Methodology: With a randomized controlled study design, a total of 22 (11 in each group) clinically diagnosed patients of GERD presenting to the gastroenterology outpatient department at Holy Family Hospital in Pakistan were assessed using GERD related "quality of life index (QoLI)" questionnaire and their on-demand proton pump inhibitors (PPI) usage. Single blinding technique will be used.
