Although most ingested items pass through the gastrointestinal tract uneventfully, orthodontic components, such as wires, present a specific risk due to their shape and material properties. This report describes a rare case of a 13-year-old male adolescent whose initial presentation suggested ingestion of a chicken bone.

Aim: To report on the management of a toddler who had accidental ingestion of an unknown amount of paraquat, with treatment including continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), steroids and antifibrinolytics at a tertiary-level health system.
Methods: A 16-month-old child weighing 10 kg accidentally ingested an unknown amount of Gramoxone containing paraquat. The child was transferred to a tertiary centre Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) where she was electively intubated and commenced on CRRT at 7 hours and 15 minutes post-ingestion.

Introduction And Importance: Multifocal fractures in a single upper extremity represent a significant clinical challenge, often resulting from high-energy impacts such as motor vehicle accidents or severe falls. These injuries require complex, multifaceted approaches in management, spanning initial acute care to long-term rehabilitation. This paper examines the complexities of diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating multifocal upper extremity fractures, highlighting the importance of timely intervention and a multidisciplinary approach to maximize functional recovery, minimize long-term disability and the prognosis.
