Recently a novel neuronal activity sensor exploiting the intrinsic thresholded integrator capabilities of memristor devices has been proposed. Extracellular potentials captured by a standard bio-signal acquisition platform are fed into a memristive device which reacts to the input by changing its resistive state (RS) only when the signal ampitude exceeds a threshold. Thus, significant peaks in the neural signal can be stored as non-volatile changes in memristor resistive state whilst noise is effectively suppressed. However, as a memristor is subjected to increasing numbers of supra-threshold stimuli during practical operation, it accumulates (RS) changes and eventually saturates. This leads to severely redsignaluced neural activity detection capabilities. In this work we explore different signal processing and memristor operating procedure strategies in order to improve the detection rate of significant neuronal activity events. We analyse the data obtained from a single-memristive device biased with a reference neural recording and observe that performance can be improved markedly by a) increasing the frequency at which the memristor is reset to an initial resistive state where it is known to be highly responsive, b) appropriately preconditioning the input waveform through application of gain and offset in order to optimally exploit the intrinsic device behaviour. All results are validated by benchmarking obtained spike detection performance against a state-of-the-art template matching system utilising computationally-heavy, multi-dimensional, principal component analysis.

In this regard, both prokaryotes and eukaryotes possess abundant machinery supporting the quality of the proteome in healthy and stressful conditions. This machinery, namely chaperones, assists in folding, refolding, and the utilization of client proteins.
Previous studies have suggested that porcine peritoneal macrophages (PPMs) are resistant to PRRSV infection, whereas porcine alveolar macrophages (PAMs) are highly susceptible. This contrast is intriguing, as both cell types belong to the same monocyte/macrophage family. The current study aimed to investigate the host factors contributing to the differing susceptibility of PPMs and PAMs to PRRSV infection.
Introduction: Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) pose a significant challenge in acute care hospitals, particularly in intensive care units, due to persistent environmental contamination despite existing disinfection protocols and manual cleaning methods. Current disinfection methods are labor-intensive and often ineffective against multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogens, highlighting the need for new, automated, hands-free approaches.
Methods: This study evaluates the bactericidal efficacy of low concentrations of gaseous ozone (5 ppm) against clinically relevant and often MDR bacteria under various concentrations, contact times, temperatures, and environmental conditions.
Atherosclerosis is the underlying factor in the premature death of millions of humans annually. The cause of death is often a result of the rupture of an atherosclerotic plaque followed by the discharge of the associated molecular debris into the vessel lumen which occludes the artery leading to ischemia of downstream tissue and to morbidity or mortality of the individual. This is most serious when it occurs in the heart (heart attack) or brain (stroke).
Digital platforms are transforming the world of work. However, platforms operating in similar fields of activity encounter varying mechanisms of opposition, as a result of different degrees of professional institutionalization and their relations with the state. This study examines the diversified labor/capital struggle processes on platforms operating at different points of urban mobility in Istanbul and makes an evaluation between delivery and transportation platforms.
