Introduction: Body mass index (BMI) has been implicated in various cardiovascular conditions, but its association with peripheral artery disease (PAD) in both real-world and genetic studies have been contentious and debated.
Methods: This study enrolled 6707 individuals from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey database to investigate the association between BMI and the risk of PAD. The weighted logistic regression, restricted cubic spline, and subgroup analysis were performed using real-world data.

Background: The Influenza A virus (IAV), a pathogen affecting the respiratory system, represents a major risk to public health worldwide. Immunization remains the foremost strategy to control the transmission of IAV. The virus has two primary antigens: hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA).

Background: Chemical-induced acute lung injury is characterized by impaired epithelial regenerative capacity, leading to acute pulmonary edema. Numerous studies have investigated the therapeutic potential of endogenous stem cells with particular emphasis on alveolar type 2 epithelial (AEC2) cells owing to their involvement in lung cell renewal. Sox9, a transcription factor known for its role in maintaining stem cell properties and guiding cell differentiation, marks a subset of AEC2 cells believed to contribute to epithelial repair.

Background: The importance of integrating physical and psychosocial factors in assessing frailty -health outcomes has been increasingly acknowledged, while the related evidence is lacking. We sought to investigate the associations of joint physical-psychosocial frailty with risk of premature mortality and evaluate the relative importance of individual physical and psychosocial factors.
Design: A total of 381,295 participants with no history of cancer or cardiovascular disease (CVD) were recruited from the UK Biobank cohort.

In this study, the cavitation erosion (CE) behavior of wire-arc directed energy deposition (DED) nickel-aluminum bronze (NAB) alloys is compared with that of cast alloys, and the synergistic effect between corrosion and CE is investigated. The CE resistance of the wire-arc DED NAB alloy is better than that of the cast alloys. The CE of NAB alloys preferentially occurs at the boundaries of the α-Cu and residual β phases, and in the matrix around the κ phase.
