All ferromagnetic materials show deterioration of magnetism-related properties such as magnetization and magnetostriction with increasing temperature, as the result of gradual loss of magnetic order with approaching Curie temperature T. However, technologically, it is highly desired to find a magnetic material that can resist such magnetism deterioration and maintain stable magnetism up to its T, but this seems against the conventional wisdom about ferromagnetism. Here we show that a Fe-Ga alloy exhibits highly thermal-stable magnetization up to the vicinity of its T, 880 K. Also, the magnetostriction shows nearly no deterioration over a very wide temperature range. Such unusual behaviour stems from dual-magnetic-phase nature of this alloy, in which a gradual structural-magnetic transformation occurs between two magnetic phases so that the magnetism deterioration is compensated by the growth of the ferromagnetic phase with larger magnetization. Our finding may help to develop highly thermal-stable ferromagnetic and magnetostrictive materials.

MgAc-Modified SnO Electron Transport Layer for Highly Efficient and Thermal Stable Perovskite Solar Cells.

Nano Lett

November 2024

Beijing Key Laboratory of Novel Thin Film Solar Cells, School of New Energy, North China Electric Power University, Beijing 102206, People's Republic of China.

There are always defects and oxygen vacancies in SnO prepared by solution methods, hindering efficient carrier transfer between SnO and the perovskite in perovskite solar cells. Thus, we employed MgAc to modify the interface. Carboxyl groups of MgAc filled the oxygen vacancies in SnO, reducing its surface defect density, and Mg partially replaced surface Sn, improving the properties of the SnO layer.

Nanocellulose-based film, as a novel new type of film mainly made of nanosized cellulose, has demonstrated an ideal combination of renewability and enhanced or novel properties. Considerable efforts have been made to enhance its intrinsic properties or create new functions to expand its applications, such as in food packaging, water treatment or flexible electronics. In this paper, two different types of deep eutectic solvents (guanidine sulfamate-glycerol and guanidine sulfamate-choline chloride) were formulated and applied to prepare cellulose nanocrystals with dialdehyde cellulose (DAC).

In the last few decades, nanoparticles have been a prominent topic in various fields, particularly in agriculture, due to their unique physicochemical properties. Herein, molybdenum copper lindgrenite Cu(MoO)(OH) (CM) nanoflakes (NFs) are synthesized by a one-step reaction involving α-MoO and CuCO⋅Cu(OH)⋅xHO solution at low temperature for large scale industrial production and developed as an effective antifungal agent for the oilseed rape. This synthetic method demonstrates great potential for industrial applications.

Processed foods containing pork fat tissue to improve flavor and gain economic benefit may cause severe issues for Muslims, Jews, and vegetarians. This study aimed to develop an indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (iELISA) based on a monoclonal antibody specific to thermal stable-soluble protein in pork fat tissue and apply it to detect pork fat tissue in heat-processed (autoclave, steam, roast, and fry) beef meatballs. To develop a sensitive iELISA, the optimal sample pre-cooking time, coating conditions, primary and secondary dilution time, and various buffer systems were tested.
