A 64-year-old female was diagnosed with adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma. She then underwent an unrelated allogeneic bone marrow transplantation with a reduced-intensity regimen. She achieved engraftment followed by HHV-6 encephalopathy. This was complicated by pneumonia. is now a possible emergent organism resistant to carbapenem after transplantation.
