The planar cell polarity (PCP) pathway is best known for its role in polarizing epithelial cells within the plane of a tissue but it also plays a role in a range of cell migration events during development. The mechanism by which the PCP pathway polarizes stationary epithelial cells is well characterized, but how PCP signaling functions to regulate more dynamic cell behaviors during directed cell migration is much less understood. Here, we review recent discoveries regarding the localization of PCP proteins in migrating cells and their impact on the cell biology of collective and individual cell migratory behaviors.

The Cu(II)-catalyzed -heteroannulation reaction of [60]fullerene (C) with aryl sulfonamides and paraformaldehyde has been disclosed for the synthesis of diverse C-fused imidazolidines, of which one or both of the ArSO moieties could be removed selectively. Further transformations into the unexpected bicyclic 1,2,3,4-adduct and C-fused imidazolidinium iodide salt have also been demonstrated. A plausible reaction mechanism is proposed on the basis of control experiments.

The title compound, CHNO, was synthesized by S2 reaction of bromo-methyl coumarin with 4,4-di-methyl-piperidine-2,6-dione. The mol-ecule crystalizes in the monoclinic system with space group 2/. The coumarin unit is almost planar with a dihedral angle between the aromatic rings of 0.

3D-Printed quasi-solid-state microsupercapacitors (MSCs) present immense potential as next-generation miniature energy storage devices, offering superior power density, excellent flexibility, and feasible on-chip integration. However, the challenges posed by formulating 3D printing inks with high-performance and ensuring efficient ionic transport in thick electrodes hinder the development of advanced MSCs with high areal energy density. Herein, we report 3D-printed ultrahigh-energy-density asymmetric MSCs with latticed electrodes, fabricated using Ni-Co-S/Co(OH)/carbon nanotubes/reduced graphene oxide (Ni-Co-S/Co(OH)/CNTs/rGO) positive electrode ink and activated carbon (AC)/CNTs negative electrode ink.

Convergent extension (CE) is a universal morphogenetic engine that promotes polarized tissue extension. In vertebrates, CE is regulated by non-canonical Wnt ligands signaling through "core" proteins of the planar cell polarity (PCP) pathway, including the cytoplasmic protein Dishevelled (Dvl), receptor Frizzled (Fz) and tetraspan protein Van gogh-like (Vangl). PCP was discovered in Drosophila to coordinate polarity in the plane of static epithelium, but does not regulate CE in flies.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) are emerging as a promising candidate for large-scale energy storage, offering enhanced safety and low costs. Nevertheless, the disordered growth of zinc dendrites has resulted in low coulombic efficiency and the dangers of short circuits, limiting the commercialization of ZIBs. In this study, a planar growth of zinc along the (002) direction is achieved by regulating the moderate initial stacking pressure during cell cycling and facilitating a larger zinc deposition particle size.
