Three reagents used for allyldimethylsilylation of prostaglandins and steroids have been prepared: N,O-bis(allyldimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide, N-methylallyl-dimethylsilyltrifluoroacetamide and allyldimethylsilyl-N,N-diphenylamine. The reaction kinetics of the reagents have been studied at room temperature in several solvents, and the optimal conditions for the derivatization of prostaglandins and steroids are discussed.

Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) plays a crucial role in inflammation. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications are commonly utilized to alleviate pain and address inflammation by blocking the production of PGE2 and cyclooxygenase (COX). However, selective inhibition of COX can easily lead to a series of risks for cardiovascular diseases.

In prednisone-dependent severe asthma, uncontrolled sputum eosinophilia is associated with increased numbers of group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s). These cells represent a relatively steroid-insensitive source of interleukin-5 (IL-5) and IL-13 and are considered critical drivers of asthma pathology. The abundance of ILC subgroups in severe asthma with neutrophilic or mixed granulocytic (both eosinophilic and neutrophilic) airway inflammation, prone to recurrent infective exacerbations, remains unclear.

Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) is a key enzyme in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins and plays a special role in the process of inflammatory response. COX-2 is a target of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which can effectively relieve inflammation, pain and fever responses by inhibiting COX-2. Despite the significant study progress of inhibitors targeting COX-2, the development of COX-2 degraders remains insufficient.

Background: NSAID-exacerbated respiratory disease (N-ERD) is a hypersensitivity to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as aspirin or ibuprofen, accompanied by chronic rhinosinusitis (with or without nasal polyps) or asthma. The prevalence of hypersensitivity to NSAIDs is estimated to be 2%. The first line of treatment is the avoidance of NSAIDs.

Background This study investigated the association between prostaglandins, vitamin D levels, and their potential role in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Previous research has shown prostaglandins' stimulatory effects and vitamin D's inhibitory effects in various malignancies. Methods This cross-sectional study evaluated 54 AML patients at Shahid Ghazi Center of Imam Reza Hospital in Tabriz.
