Several types of accidents, such as exposure to toxic gases, fires, or explosions, are encountered in process industries which are highly risk systems. To reduce risks and the consequences of disruptive events, resilience is recognized as one of the most important aspects of safety management, and resilience assessment in complex process systems plays an important role. This study examines methods for resilience assessment in process industries, by reviewing the published studies.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), encompassing Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, significantly increases the risk of colitis-associated cancer (CAC). Chronic inflammation, a key contributor to carcinogenesis, disrupts immune surveillance, induces deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) damage, and alters genetic and epigenetic pathways. Molecular pathways such as STAT3, mTOR, and NF-κB drive CAC progression, while unique microbiome alterations-loss of and increases in and species-exacerbate the inflammatory milieu.

Wildfires pose a significant natural disaster risk to populations and contribute to accelerated climate change. As wildfires are also affected by climate change, extreme wildfires are becoming increasingly frequent. Although they occur less frequently globally than those sparked by human activities, lightning-ignited wildfires play a substantial role in carbon emissions and account for the majority of burned areas in certain regions.

The increasing presence of wasp nests in urban areas raises ecological, economic, and public safety concerns. This study integrates 10 years (2014-2023) of data from 119 fire service reports, high-resolution LiDAR-derived structural information, hyperspectral imagery, and urban microclimate analysis to examine the spatial distribution and key environmental factors influencing wasp nest occurrences in Gwacheon, South Korea. The results indicate a 4.
