Purpose: To report a case that showed centripetal movements of the capillaries in the central macular region after vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane peeling.
Methods: A 57-year-old pseudophakic woman underwent successful vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane peeling and air tamponade for a vitreomacular traction. Optical coherence tomography angiographic images of the 3 mm × 3 mm inner retinal vascular plexus were examined preoperatively and at 3 months postoperatively. The changes in 93 corresponding bifurcations of the capillaries were assessed.
Results: The majority of the bifurcations were displaced towards the fovea at 3 months after the vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane peeling.
Conclusion: Optical coherence tomography angiography was used to help visualize the centripetal movement of the inner retina around the fovea after the vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane peeling.

Importance: Endocrine treatments, such as Tamoxifen (TAM) and/or Aromatase inhibitors (AI), are the adjuvant therapy of choice for hormone-receptor positive breast cancer. These agents are associated with menopausal symptoms, adversely affecting drug compliance. Topical estrogen (TE) has been proposed for symptom management, given its' local application and presumed reduced bioavailability, however its oncological safety remains uncertain.

Background: Sepsis, a critical global health challenge, accounted for approximately 20% of worldwide deaths in 2017. Although the Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score standardizes the diagnosis of organ dysfunction, early sepsis detection remains challenging due to its insidious symptoms. Current diagnostic methods, including clinical assessments and laboratory tests, frequently lack the speed and specificity needed for timely intervention, particularly in vulnerable populations such as older adults, intensive care unit (ICU) patients, and those with compromised immune systems.

Background: Virtual patients (VPs) are computer screen-based simulations of patient-clinician encounters. VP use is limited by cost and low scalability.
Objective: Show proof-of-concept that VPs powered by large language models (LLMs) generate authentic dialogs, accurate representations of patient preferences, and personalized feedback on clinical performance; and explore LLMs for rating dialog and feedback quality.

Background: Cervical cancer screening program in Uganda is opportunistic and focuses mainly on women aged 25-49 years. Female sex workers (FSWs) are at increased risk of developing invasive cervical cancer. There is limited data regarding the uptake and acceptability of cervical cancer screening among FSWs in Uganda.

The Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Impact Questionnaire (CF-IQ) was qualitatively developed to assess the impact of CF in the context of treatment advancements and increased longevity. This study reports the CF-IQ validation. In this noninterventional validation study, people with CF completed the 40-item CF-IQ and validating patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) via electronic diaries at enrollment (baseline) and at the 4-week follow-up.
