Human papillomavirus (HPV) underpins approximately 90% of squamous cell carcinomas (SCC) of the anus and perianal region. These tumors usually arise in association with precursor lesions such anal intraepithelial neoplasia/ high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (AIN 3/ HSIL), whereas a small subset of HPV-negative cancers may harbor mutations in TP53. Recently, vulvar lesions termed differentiated exophytic vulvar intraepithelial lesion/vulvar acanthosis with altered differentiated (DEVIL/VAAD) have been recognized as HPV-independent, TP53 wild-type precursors for vulvar carcinoma; however, analogous anal lesions have not been described.

The recent advances in neuroimaging technology allow us to understand how the human brain is wired in vivo and how functional activity is synchronized across multiple regions. Growing evidence shows that the complexity of the functional connectivity is far beyond the widely used mono-layer network. Indeed, the hierarchical processing information among distinct brain regions and across multiple channels requires using a more advanced multilayer model to understand the synchronization across the brain that underlies functional brain networks.

Background: High-precision and broad-range pH detection is critical for health status assessment, such as signal transduction, enzyme activity, endocytosis, and cell proliferation and apoptosis. Although pH-responsive ratiometric fluorescent probes offer an effective pH monitoring strategy, their preparation often requires multi-step modification and decreases fluorescence efficiency and stability. Herein, we developed a simple method to prepare fluorescent Si dots with dual emission centers for high-precision and broad-range pH monitoring, and the detection of urease based on pH-responsive Si dots and pH monitoring in living cell was further explored.

Background: Fast and accurate classification of steel can effectively improve industrial production efficiency. In recent years, the use of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) in conjunction with other techniques for material classification has been developing. Plasma Acoustic Emission Signal (PAES) is a type of modal information separate from spectra that is detected using LIBS, and it can reflect some of the sample's physicochemical information.
