In order to assess the reliability, factorial validity, and criterion validity of the Personality Inventory for DSM-5 (PID-5) among adolescents, 1,264 Italian high school students were administered the PID-5. Participants were also administered the Questionnaire on Relationships and Substance Use as a criterion measure. In the full sample, McDonald's ω values were adequate for the PID-5 scales (median ω = .85, SD = .06), except for Suspiciousness. However, all PID-5 scales showed average inter-item correlation values in the .20-.55 range. Exploratory structural equation modeling analyses provided moderate support for the a priori model of PID-5 trait scales. Ordinal logistic regression analyses showed that selected PID-5 trait scales predicted a significant, albeit moderate (Cox & Snell R values ranged from .08 to .15, all ps < .001) amount of variance in Questionnaire on Relationships and Substance Use variables.

Background: Compensation has the potential to improve everyday functioning and delay or prevent conversion to dementia; thus, improvement of compensation is a desirable intervention target. In addition to cognition, research suggests personality and mood may affect compensation use. The primary aim of this study was to evaluate whether psychological factor(s) are significant predictors of compensation after accounting for cognition in a non-demented older adult sample.

The metacognition of one's planning strategy constitutes a "second-level" of metacognition that goes beyond the knowledge and monitoring of one's cognition and refers to the ability to use awareness mechanisms to regulate execution of present or future actions effectively. This study investigated the relation between metacognition of one's planning strategy and the behavioral and electrophysiological (EEG) correlates that support strategic planning abilities during performance in a complex decision-making task. Moreover, a possible link between task execution, metacognition, and individual differences (i.

This study tests the application of the HEXACO among Catholic priests and the power of this six factor model of personality to predict scores on the Francis Burnout Inventory among priests. Data provided by 264 priests serving in Italy lead to two conclusions. In this population three of the six scales of the HEXACO failed to display adequate levels of internal consistency reliability (emotionality, agreeableness, openness to experience).
