Importance: While corticosteroid administration in septic shock has been shown to result in faster shock reversal and lower short-term mortality, the role of corticosteroids in the management of cardiogenic shock (CS) remains unexplored.
Objectives: Determine the impact of corticosteroid administration on 90-day mortality (primary outcome) in patients admitted to a critical care unit with CS.
Design, Setting, And Participants: In this retrospective cohort study, we used the critical care database of Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care-IV, and included all adult patients diagnosed with CS excluding repeated admissions, patients with adrenal insufficiency, those receiving baseline corticosteroids, and those requiring extracorporeal life support.

Purpose: Measurement of intraoperative intact parathyroid hormone (ioPTH) levels is a reliable predictor of postsurgical hypocalcemia. We assessed the optimal cutoff values of ioPTH decline for predicting postoperative early and permanent hypoparathyroidism.
Methods: This was a retrospective study of a prospectively maintained database of patients undergoing thyroid surgery in a tertiary care hospital in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona, Spain).

Pesticides can adversely affect reproduction by causing congenital abnormalities, fetal demise, and infertility. The reproductive toxicity of coragen, a modified ryanodine receptor-targeting insecticide with chlorantraniliprole concentrations of 20%, was examined in male rats. Twenty-one healthy male rats were randomly assigned to one of three groups: the control group, two orally administered with low (500 mg/kg) and high (1000 mg/kg) doses of coragen for 8 weeks.
