Objectives: The study aims to investigate the prevalence of multidrug resistant bacteria on paper and coin currency obtained from various occupational groups in Bangladesh and to identify the bacterial species present. The research further seeks to evaluate the antibiotic resistance patterns of the identified bacterial isolates.

Methods: 84 paper currency notes and 56 coins were collected from seven different sources.

Introduction Currencies such as coins and paper notes are always used for the purchase of products and services by the common man. These currencies are constantly being subjected to contamination and thus serve as a potential medium for the transfer of microbial pathogens. Thus, this study aims to establish public awareness of the proper handling of currency notes to prevent cross-contamination and the incidence of infectious diseases.

Nature produces ATP, the energy currency, by converting solar energy (photophosphorylation) and chemical energy (substrate-level phosphorylation and oxidative phosphorylation). Green electricity, as a significant and sustainable energy carrier, plays a crucial role in achieving a carbon-neutral society. In this work, we established and verified a novel electrodriven phosphorylation method.

Plants stem cells, known as meristems, specify all patterns of growth and organ size. Differences in meristem activities contribute to diverse shoot architectures. As many architectural traits, such as branching patterns, flowering time, and fruit size, are yield determinants, meristem regulation is of fundamental importance to crop productivity.

Unlabelled: Heterotrophic marine bacteria utilize and recycle dissolved organic matter (DOM), impacting biogeochemical cycles. It is currently unclear to what extent distinct DOM components can be used by different heterotrophic clades. Here, we ask how a natural microbial community from the Eastern Mediterranean Sea (EMS) responds to different molecular classes of DOM (peptides, amino acids, amino sugars, disaccharides, monosaccharides, and organic acids) comprising much of the biomass of living organisms.
