Reproductive health equity: demystifying unmet need for family planning among young women in Uttar Pradesh.

Contracept Reprod Med

January 2025

PopulationCouncil Consulting, New Delhi, 110003, India.

Background: The unmet need for contraception among adolescent women in India is a significant public health concern, contributing to unintended pregnancies and abortions. Background: One of the main challenges in the maintenance of registries is to keep a high follow-up rate and a reliable strategy to limit dropout is currently lacking. Aim of this study was to utilize machine learning (ML) models to highlight the characteristics of patients who are most likely to drop out, and to evaluate the potential cost effectiveness of the implementation of a follow-up system based on the obtained data.

Methods: All patients recruited in the local spine surgery registry were included and demographic, peri- and postoperative data were collected.

Extraction of Natural-Based Raw Materials Towards the Production of Sustainable Man-Made Organic Fibres.

Polymers (Basel)

December 2024

Fibrenamics, Institute of Innovation on Fiber-Based Materials and Composites, University of Minho, 4800-058 Guimarães, Portugal.

Bioresources have been gaining popularity due to their abundance, renewability, and recyclability. Nevertheless, given their diverse composition and complex hierarchical structures, these bio-based sources must be carefully processed to effectively extract valuable raw polymeric materials suitable for producing man-made organic fibres. This review will first highlight the most relevant bio-based sources, with a particular focus on promising unconventional biomass sources (terrestrial vegetables, aquatic vegetables, fungi, and insects), as well as agroforestry and industrial biowaste (food, paper/wood, and textile).
