The evolution in conceptualization of sexual desire has stimulated many attempts to measure it. However measures able to assess multiple expressions of desire in all sexual identities are still lacking. The main aim of the present study was to test the psychometric properties of the Sexual Desire and Erotic Fantasies questionnaire - Part 1 Sexual Desire (SDEF1), developed as a sex-positive measure of different sexual desire expressions.

Fain's theoretical conceptualisation of the 'Censorship of the Lover' (1971) offers a framework to investigate the unrepresented traumatic aspects of the hypochondriacal fear of breast cancer. The failure of the maternal role to function as both the mother-of-the-infant and the lover-of-the-father creates considerable deficits in the primal psychosomatic tie. The authors aim to draw attention on to the importance of the mother-of-the-infant facet of the dual maternal function.

Positive psychosexual development in adolescence is crucial to sexual health. Evidence suggests that adolescent's psychosexual development is influenced by the sexual self-concept, relational skills, attitudes toward sexual pleasure, and sexual practices. To date, however, understanding of normative dispositions and experiences that positively shape adolescents' psychosexual development remains limited.
