The effect of monensin on the in vitro utilization of lactate in the rumen contents of a steer, cow and two wethers was investigated. The rate of the utilization of lactate in monensin-treated cultures was on average only two thirds of that found in cultures without monensin. Monensin tended to increase acetate and to decrease butyrate in cultures with lactate. After 11-week adaptation of a wether to monensin the inhibitory effect of ionophore persisted, being, however, less pronounced and without influence on the molar percentages of VFA. Effects of monensin reported here seem to be caused by its inhibiting action against rumen lactilytic protozoa. There were no significant differences between monensin from Elanco and the Czechoslovak analogue.

The LutR protein represses the transcription of genes encoding enzymes for the utilization of l-lactate in through binding to a specific DNA region. In this study, we employed oligonucleotide probes modified by viscosity-sensitive tetramethylated thiophene-BODIPY fluorophores to investigate the impact of selected metabolites on the LutR-DNA complex. Objective: The present study was designed to comprehensively analyze the expression profiles of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ coactivator-1α (PGC-1α), estrogen-related receptor-α (ERRα), estrogen receptor-β (ERβ), interleukin-6 (IL-6), cysteinyl-aspartic acid-specific protease-3 (caspase-3), and cysteinyl-aspartic acid-specific protease-9 (caspase-9) in endometriosis tissues. It also aimed to elucidate the hitherto unclarified role of PGC-1α in the processes of proliferation, apoptosis, and gene expression regulation of human endometrial stromal cells, thereby providing novel insights and identifying potential molecular targets for advancing endometriosis treatment modalities.
Methods: A total of 49 ectopic endometrial tissue samples and 50 normal endometrial tissue samples were meticulously collected from patients who underwent gynecological surgeries in the People's Hospital Affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Fuzhou, China, between January 2022 and January 2023.

Background: Direct reprogramming of fibroblasts into chemically induced cardiomyocyte-like cells (CiCMs) through small molecules presents a promising cell source for cardiac regeneration and therapeutic development. However, the contaminating non-cardiomyocytes, primarily unconverted fibroblasts, reduce the effectiveness of CiCMs in various applications.
