Unlabelled: Incisura fibularis (IF) is an important landmark in assessing syndesmotic stability radiologically postinjury. The purpose of this review was to explore the anatomy and morphometrics of this widely used anatomical landmark and to further the understanding of the same. A systematic review was conducted online using PubMed and Google Scholar, per PRISMA guidelines. Predefined eligibility criteria were applied, and the data thus compiled were analyzed. Wide variability in morphometrics and, thus, anatomy of IF were observed in the present review, which was influenced by gender. There was no side-to-side variability seen in this study. The study stresses the need to consider the anatomical and gender-based variability while assessing syndesmotic stability and further supports the recommendation of side-to-side comparison.

Background: Ankle fractures are among the most common types of fractures in the orthopaedic field, and the Lauge-Hansen classification is commonly used to categorize rotational ankle fractures. This study evaluated and compared the clinical and radiological outcomes of surgically treated supination external rotation (SER) and pronation external rotation (PER) injuries of grades III or IV.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed and enrolled 104 patients who underwent open reduction and internal fixation for SER or PER injuries classified as Grades III or IV between January 2016 and December 2021, all performed at a single center.

Background: The traditional classification for lateral malleolus fracture has its limitations. In this study, we introduced a three-dimensional (3D) fracture mapping technique using computed tomography (CT) data to assess fracture line distributions and their impact on patient outcomes, offering a refined classification approach.
Methods: Retrospectively, we analysed 97 patients who underwent lateral malleolus fracture surgeries (2014-2019), using CT Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine data to create 3D models and fracture maps.

Purpose: This study aims to illustrate the assessment and treatment strategies of acute and chronic deltoid ligament injuries, providing a treatment algorithm for each scenario.
Methods: A retrospective review was conducted on 39 patients, who had either an acute deltoid ligament injury or suffered chronic deltoid ligament insufficiency. All patients were operated on between January 2016 and December 2022.

Introduction: There is evidence that the presence of a posterior malleolus fracture (PMF) worsens the prognosis of ankle fractures, making conservative treatment a poor choice. PMFs include a heterogeneous group of bone injury patterns that are sometimes associated to medial malleolus extensions, as well as fibula fractures or syndesmotic damage. This requires the surgeon to be well-versed in anatomy to choose the appropriate surgical approach.

Background: The diagnosis of syndesmotic instability is challenging, and chronically unstable injuries can potentially lead to ankle arthritic degeneration. The objective of this cadaveric study was to utilize a 3-dimensional (3D) weight-bearing computed tomography (WBCT) distance mapping algorithm for the detection of subtle syndesmotic instability, induced by complete syndesmotic ligament sectioning and stressed by isolated axial load. We hypothesized that this algorithm would accurately detect subtle syndesmotic instability.
