Most children and adolescents older than five years spend at least six hours of their day in school settings. Like parents, education professionals can promote health and protect youth from harm by providing safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has developed a framework which posits that safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments are and are fundamental to promoting health and well-being; protecting youth from maltreatment and other violence and victimization; and ensuring optimal, healthy development. In this paper, the authors propose an approach to applying safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments to the school ecology; review select survey measures to examine these constructs within educational settings; and suggest available indicators to measure safety, stability, and nurturance within the school context.

African swine fever (ASF), caused by African swine fever virus (ASFV), is a highly contagious disease with devastating effects on the global pig industry. This warrants the development of effective control strategies, such as vaccines. However, previously developed inactivated vaccines have proven ineffective, while live-attenuated vaccines carry inherent safety risks.

Introduction: WT1 often presents on the surface of diffuse pleural mesotheliomas (DPMs) and is an ideal therapeutic target. Galinpepimut-S (GPS), a tetravalent, non-human leukocyte antigen-restricted, heteroclitic WT1-specific peptide vaccine was safe and effective in early phase clinical trials and upregulates T-cell suppressive programmed death-ligand 1 in the tumor microenvironment of other malignancies. A randomized phase 2 study of adjuvant GPS in patients with DPM trended toward improved median overall survival.

The study was aimed at assessing the role of the MiniMed780G system of glycemic control before, during, and after Ramadan among people with Type 1 diabetes (PwT1D). This is a single-center retrospective analysis of MiniMed780G system users aged 14 years and above whose glycemic profiles were collected from February 21 to May 20, 2023, which corresponds to the Hijri months of Sha'ban, Ramadan, and Shawwal 1444/1445. Data was collected, processed, and analyzed in the framework of the Medtronic Galaxy service of the One Hospital Clinical Service (OHCS) program in Dallah Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Background: Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) procedures including cavo-tricuspid isthmus (CTI) ablation have proven to be safe and effective therapies for the treatment of many cardiac tachyarrhythmias. The incidence of coronary arterial injury (CAI) associated with RFA including CTI ablation is estimated to occur in <0.1% of patients.

Background: SL-172154 is a hexameric fusion protein adjoining the extracellular domain of SIRPα to the extracellular domain of CD40L via an inert IgG-derived Fc domain. In preclinical studies, a murine equivalent SIRPα-Fc-CD40L fusion protein provided superior antitumor immunity in comparison to CD47- and CD40-targeted antibodies. A first-in-human phase I trial of SL-172154 was conducted in patients with platinum-resistant ovarian cancer.
