The exposures to total dust of a group of carbon black workers with selected circulatory, malignant, and respiratory diseases were compared with the exposures of nonaffected, matched control workers. Exposure was calculated by combining ambient air measurements (mg/m3) for each job category with the months workers had spent in each job. The cumulative total dust exposure levels of the cases were comparable to those of the controls, with the exception of men who had diseases of the circulatory system and who had experienced significantly less exposure than had the matched control workers. The results of this study indicate that exposure to carbon black in the workplace does not increase the workers' risks of circulatory, malignant, or respiratory morbidity.

The Research Program is a longitudinal cohort study of diverse participants from the United States, with demographic and social determinants of health data gleaned from participant surveys and health outcome data derived from electronic health records. We developed a composite index of socioeconomic deprivation (iSDI) using a cohort of 202,919 participants - based on education, employment, health insurance, housing, and income data - and we associated iSDI with health outcomes and disparities.

Purpose: A synergistic treatment strategy of phototherapy and chemotherapy has been shown to improve efficacy and offer unique advantages over monotherapy. The purpose of this study is to explore a new nanocarrier system with liposome as the inner membrane and erythrocyte membrane as the outer membrane, which aims to realize the leak-free load of phototherapy drug indocyanine green (ICG) and chemotherapy drug doxorubicin (DOX), prolong the circulation time in vivo and improve the therapeutic effect.

Glioblastoma (GBM) persists as a highly fatal malignancy, with current clinical treatments showing minimal progress over years. Interstitial photodynamic therapy (iPDT) holds promise due to its minimally invasive nature and low toxicity but is impeded by poor photosensitizer penetration and inadequate GBM targeting.
