We present here in a historical focus on the first descriptions in the 1950's by Louis Paufique of Descemetorhexis without endothelial keratoplasty (DWEK) for the treatment of Fuchs' endothelial dystrophy. In undergraduate medical education, peer feedback is a method of assessment that is not used commonly; however, its use is on the rise. In this literature-based guide, we discuss the advantages of peer assessment, as well as tips for implementation (including training of students and faculty and assessment tools/instruments) and strategies to overcome barriers to its use.
