Geburtshilfe Frauenheilkd

January 2025

Department of Gynecology, Obstetrics, and Gynecological Endocrinology, Kepler University Hospital, Johannes Kepler University Linz, Linz, Austria.

Introduction: To evaluate the adherence of Austrian obstetricians to national guideline recommendations by investigating data on the current practice of tocolysis regarding indications, timing and monitoring of tocolysis, choice of tocolytics and serious side effects, maintenance tocolysis, support of decision-making and recommendations at patient's discharge from the hospital.

Materials And Methods: 78 obstetric departments in Austria were invited to participate in a nationwide survey between June 5 and August 31 2023 by answering a web-based questionnaire about clinical standards. The protein interaction between the viral surface S-glycoprotein and the host angiotensin converting enzyme-2 receptor (ACE2) is key to the virulent nature of SARS-CoV-2. The potential role that effective drug repurposing strategies may have to help stem the impact of future outbreaks has been brought to light in the recent COVID-19 pandemic. This study outlines a comprehensive approach towards drug discovery which aims to identify hit agents that can be suitably translated into a clinical setting.

Preterm birth is defined as a live birth before 37 weeks of gestation and is associated with increased neonatal morbidity and mortality. The aim of this study is to compare the efficacy of hexoprenaline and atosiban for short- and long-term tocolysis and their effects on neonatal and maternal outcomes. This retrospective cohort study included women with threatened preterm labor between 24 + 0 and 34 + 0 weeks of gestation without premature rupture of membranes.

Acute tocolysis for intrapartum nonreassuring fetal status: how often does it prevent cesarean delivery? A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

Am J Obstet Gynecol MFM

September 2022

Academic Unit of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Department of Neuroscience, Rehabilitation, Ophthalmology, Genetics, Maternal and Infant Health, University of Genoa, Genova, Italy (Dr Londero).

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of intrapartum acute tocolysis for nonreassuring fetal heart rate tracing in decreasing the incidence of cesarean delivery. Secondary outcomes included modes of delivery other than cesarean delivery, successful acute tocolysis, time-to-delivery interval, and short-term perinatal outcomes.

Data Sources: Searches were performed in MEDLINE/PubMed, Embase, Scopus, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials and Reviews, ClinicalTrials.

Background: According to literature reports, none of the previous methods of analysis had touched the multivariate approach for the quantification of significant factors affecting the interaction of dobutamine or hexoprenaline with Terbium.

Objective: Two novel β-adrenergic agonists-lanthanide chemosensors were prepared for the determination of dobutamine and hexoprenaline in their pure and pharmaceutical dosage forms and in urine samples. Fabrication of the two chemosensors was based on their ligand-metal interaction with the lanthanide Terbium.
