Fracture of an intraocular lens (IOL) haptic is a rare complication of cataract surgery. A broken haptic can cause serious damage in the anterior and posterior segments. To the best of our knowledge, a broken haptic in a high-quality, commercially available trifocal IOL has not been documented in the literature. Prompt and proactive action at 1 day postoperatively aided in addressing the complication and restoring the vision. We suggest that the ophthalmologist performed a thorough evaluation on the 1 postoperative day and take immediate action after a discussion with the patient and relatives.

Introduction: Diffractive trifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) provide good vision at distance, intermediate, and near, but can also cause positive dysphotopsias. This meta-analysis pooled published evidence on visual disturbances after bilateral implantation of the PanOptix (TFNTXX) IOL for patients undergoing cataract surgery.
Method: A systematic literature search was conducted in PubMed and congress presentations from April 2021 to December 2022 to identify studies with patient-reported outcomes on the incidence of visual disturbances (starbursts, halos, glare) post bilateral implantation of PanOptix IOL during cataract surgery.

This study presents a systematic method to simulate various intraocular lenses (IOLs) available in the market. Five IOLs (two trifocals, one bifocal, one enhanced monofocal, and one extended depth of focus (EDOF)) were evaluated in terms of through focus visual Strehl (TFVS) utilizing the OptiSpheric IOL PRO2 device (Trioptics GmbH). Then, the estimated TFVS (ETFVS) and the temporal coefficients necessary for temporal multiplexing were computed, and through an iterative process, the SimVis TFVS was obtained.

Objective: To investigate the visual outcomes and patient satisfaction following trifocal intraocular lens (IOL) implantation after radial keratotomy (RK).
Methods: This was a retrospective chart review wherein we studied 14 eyes from 7 patients who had undergone cataract surgery and had trifocal intraocular lens (IOL) implanted in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia's King Fahd University Hospital and Kahhal private centre. Data such as demographic characteristics, the time between RK and cataract removal, intraoperative and postoperative complications, preoperative and postoperative uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA), corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA), and refraction were evaluated.
