A homochiral 3D porous metal-organic framework was assembled from a chiral dicarboxylic acid-functionalized Cu(salen)-based catalyst and could serve as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for aziridination and allylic amination of olefins. Besides easy separation and reuse of the catalyst, the chiral framework confinement could impart substrate size selectivity, enhance catalyst activity, and induce product enantioselectivity.

Gallium, a trace metal not found in its elemental form in nature, has garnered significant interest as a biocide, given its ability to interfere with iron metabolism in bacteria. Consequently, several gallium compounds have been developed and studied for their antimicrobial properties but face challenges of poor solubility and formulation for delivery. Organizing the metal into three-dimensional, hybrid scaffolds, termed metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), is an emerging platform with potential to address many of these limitations.

Core-shell magnetic particles consisting of magnetic core and functional shells have aroused widespread attention in multidisciplinary fields spanning chemistry, materials science, physics, biomedicine, and bioengineering due to their distinctive magnetic properties, tunable interface features, and elaborately designed compositions. In recent decades, various surface engineering strategies have been developed to endow them desired properties (e.g.

Bimetallic (Ta/Ti, V, Co, Nb) mesoporous MCM-41 nanoparticles were obtained by direct synthesis and hydrothermal treatment. The obtained mesoporous materials were characterized by XRD, XRF, N adsorption/desorption, SEM, TEM, XPS, Raman, UV-Vis, and PL spectroscopy. A more significant effect was observed on the mesoporous structure, typically for MCM-41, and on optic properties if the second metal (Ti, Co) did not belong to the same Vb group with Ta as V and Nb.

Amide compounds are widely present in drug molecules and natural products, which can be synthesized by acid-amine condensation. It is urgent to design new photocatalysts for achieving both nitroaromatic reduction and C-H oxidation to obtain raw materials, carboxylic acids, and aromatic amines. Herein, a novel isopolymolybdate-incorporated photoactive metal-organic framework, -TPT, was constructed by combining the oxidation catalyst [MoO], Ni(II) cation, and photosensitive ligand 2,4,6-tri(4-pyridyl)-1,3,5-triazine (TPT).

In this study, 3,4-diaminobenzoic acid (DABA) was introduced into the porphyrin metal-organic framework (PCN-224) for the first time to prepare a ratiometric fluorescent probe (PCN-224-DABA) to quantitatively detect ferric iron (Fe(III)) and selenium (IV) (Se(IV)). The fluorescence attributed to the DABA of PCN-224-DABA at 345 nm can be selectively quenched by Fe(III) and Se(IV), but the fluorescence emission peak attributed to tetrakis (4-carboxyphenyl) porphyrin (TCPP) at 475 nm will not be disturbed. Therefore, the ratio of I/I with an excitation wavelength of 270 nm can be designed to determine Fe(III) and Se(IV).
