Rationale And Objective: Conventional positron emission tomography (PET) respiratory gating utilizes a fraction of acquired PET counts (i.e., optimal gate [OG]), whereas elastic motion correction with deblurring (EMCD) utilizes all PET counts to reconstruct motion-corrected images without increasing image noise.

The Pediatric Hip Physical Exam.

Curr Rev Musculoskelet Med

January 2025

UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, 500 Parnassus Ave, MU 320W, San Fransciso, CA, 94143, USA.

Purpose Of Review: Atraumatic hip pain in children is one of the most common orthopaedic complaints in this population. This review details the important elements of the pediatric hip physical exam and provides an overview of pertinent clinical exam findings in specific diagnoses of common pediatric hip pathology.

Recent Findings: A thorough physical exam is critical for the diagnosis of pediatric hip pathology, as many conditions have exam findings that are very commonly associated with the pathology, if not pathognomonic for the disorder.

Background: Calcaneal fracture malunion (CFM) commonly occurs with multiple pathologic changes and progressive pain and difficulty walking. The purpose of this study was to propose a modified 3-plane joint-preserving osteotomy for the treatment of CFM with subtalar joint incongruence, and to compare its efficacy to subtalar arthrodesis.

Methods: A retrospective comparative analysis of the data of 56 patients with CFM admitted from January 2017 to December 2022 was performed.

The traditional method is capable of detecting and tracking stationary and slow-moving targets in a sea surface environment. However, the signal focusing capability of such a method could be greatly reduced especially for those variable-speed targets. To solve this problem, a novel tracking algorithm combining range envelope alignment and azimuth phase filtering is proposed.

Department of Sports Science and Physical Education, Faculty of Education, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, China; CUHK Jockey Club Institute of Aging, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, N.T., Hong Kong, China. Electronic address:

Chronic low back pain (CLBP) affects people's activities of daily living, including sitting down and standing up. Movement pattern analyses during five-repetition sit-to-stand (5RSTS) may allow CLBP status differentiation. 44 CLBP and 22 asymptomatic participants performed 5RSTS in this study, with their trunk and lower limb movements recorded using 3-dimensional motion capture system.
