Objective: To assess significance of focal FDG uptake in osseous structures, with and without CT correlate, in patients undergoing FDG PET/CT for oncological indications.
Methods: 57 patients with focally increased FDG activity in bones and a definite follow up were included.
Results: 85.2% of lesions without changes were found to be malignant. Sensitivity and PPV of a CT correlate in metastatic lesions was expectedly high, 62.9% and 86.7% respectively, however, the NPV was only 14.8%.
Conclusion: Osseous foci are valuable in predicting metastatic disease even in the absence of low dose CT correlate.

Neurons require high amounts energy, and mitochondria help to fulfill this requirement. Dysfunc-tional mitochondria trigger problems in various neuronal tasks. Using the neuromuscular junction (NMJ) as a model synapse, we previously reported that Mitochondrial Complex I (MCI) subunits were required for maintaining NMJ function and growth.

The objective of this study was to analyze the sensory changes reported by patients after lateral nasal wall surgery and to assess the prevalence and severity of sensory disturbances, the factors that influence their occurrence, and their impact on patients' quality of life. The methodology adopted in this study was PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis), as well as the PICO (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcomes) strategy, which assisted in the development of the study's objectives. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, among all the articles retrieved in the searched databases (PubMed and Google Scholar), we selected 15 articles, considered to be pertinent and relevant to the present investigation.

This review aims to gather the best evidence to assess the relevance of implementing lung cancer screening.
